Top 10 Foods to Vacuum Seal
Vacuum sealing is a game-changer when it comes to preserving the freshness of your favorite foods. Let's dive a little deeper into the benefits of vacuum sealing each of the items mentioned above:

1. Meat: By vacuum sealing your meat, you can prevent freezer burn and keep it tender and juicy. This means you can buy in bulk when meat is on sale, and save money in the long run. Plus, having pre-packaged portions ready to go makes meal prep a breeze!

2. Fish: Vacuum sealing fish is a great way to ensure that it stays fresh and flavorful. You can also use the vacuum seal to marinate your fish before cooking, which will infuse it with delicious flavors.

3. Vegetables: Vacuum sealing your veggies is an easy way to preserve their color, flavor, and nutrients. This is especially helpful for seasonal produce that may not be available year-round. You can also use vacuum sealed veggies in soups, stews, and stir-fries for quick and easy meal prep.

4. Soups and stews: Vacuum sealing your soups and stews allows you to store leftovers for later use. You can portion them out into single servings for easy meals throughout the week, and they'll stay fresh and flavorful.

5. Grains and legumes: Vacuum sealing your grains and legumes prevents them from becoming stale or infested with bugs. This is a great option for bulk purchases, and it also saves you time because you won't have to constantly re-stock.

6. Cheese: Vacuum sealing your cheese prevents it from drying out and developing mold. Hard cheeses like Parmesan and cheddar can be stored for long periods of time, and you can also vacuum seal cheese that's been cut into smaller pieces for quick and easy snacking.

7. Bread: Vacuum sealing your bread prevents it from becoming stale, which means you can keep your favorite loaf fresh for longer. This is especially helpful for homemade bread, which tends to dry out quickly.

8. Herbs and spices: Vacuum sealing your herbs and spices preserves their flavor and aroma, so you can enjoy them for longer periods of time. This is great for spices that you don't use as frequently, and it also saves you money because you won't have to constantly re-stock.

9. Coffee and tea: Vacuum sealing your coffee and tea prevents them from losing their flavor and aroma. This is a great option for bulk purchases, and it means that you can enjoy your favorite brews for longer.

10. Fruits: Vacuum sealing your fruits preserves their flavor and texture, so you can enjoy them throughout the year. This is especially helpful for seasonal fruits that may not be available year-round, and it's also a great option for snacks on-the-go.

In summary, vacuum sealing is a great way to save money, reduce food waste, and preserve the freshness of your favorite foods. It's a game-changer when it comes to meal prep and snacking, and it's a must-try for anyone who loves to cook and eat delicious food!

    Hi James,
Thank you for reaching out. There are several machines I would recommend. We have Vesta vacuum seal machines available on our website and we would also recommend FoodSaver, Nesco, and Weston. We do not recommend Geryon machines because these machines can only use Geryon bags, our bags will not work with this brand. When picking out your new machine check on the sealing bar size. If you are using it for just everyday grocery shopping items or hunting and fishing items, a 12-inch sealing bar should be fine. If you are looking for a bigger more commercial sealer, I would recommend looking for a machine with a sealing bar that is at least 16-inches. The sealing bar width is also something I would look at. My personal favorite is the Vesta Vac ‘n Seal Pro I https://foodvacbags.com/collections/vacuum-sealers/products/vac-n-seal-pro-i . I love thicker seal and the vacuum and seal buttons right on the handle. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-538-1442 or customerservice@foodvacbags.com.

    Hi Miloslav,
Thank you for reaching out to us. To help stop liquids from getting into your sealing area there are a couple of different things you can do. First, you can do a pre-freeze by putting your item in the freezer on a cookie sheet for a couple of hours before vacuum sealing it. Second, you can use a folded paper towel, placing it in the bag after the food and before the sealing area. This will help collect the liquid and stop the liquid, blood or grease before it gets into the sealing area. We also sell Liquid Block bags that serve this same purpose. Third, you can use the pulse or manual button if your machine has one. This will allow you to vacuum at small bursts and stop the vacuum before the liquid can reach the sealing area. If you are looking to store items like soups and gravy you may want to look into a Chamber Machine. Chamber machines remove the air from around the bag instead of vacuuming from inside the bag. These machines are great to use for soups and things of that nature.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The main problem I’m dealing with is moisture in the vacuumed food that gets into the weld. We are still waiting for a household machine to come on the market that can handle this at a reasonable price.
